Born out of my love for puffy ruffled dresses and colorful tights I wanted to play with a mix of a masculine and feminine figure. I’ve always thought being feminine was a powerful trait but the world doesn’t always reward femininity. I wanted to be perceived as strong but my love for color and patterns seems to indicate I’m too delicate to hold my own. This portraits is a way to remind myself that even with my choice of dress and love for all things color and floral, I have always been able to stand up for myself and push forward without a masculine figure supporting me.
